Successful collaboration with Hotel Zuiderduin
Together with Dutch conference hotel Zuiderduin**** LABELLORD has introduced an automated labelling system for printing labels on buffet cards. This enables the hotel management to provide the right information about all dishes in a simple manner, making sure guests are well-informed and all legal requirements are met. We asked hotel manager Onne Wognum about his experience with the new system and the development of the project.
How did the collaboration come about?
"When I visited the Horecava [Dutch trade fair for the hospitality industry - Ed.] I came into contact with the people from LABELLORD. Although I was familiar with the solutions for food and allergen coding, the Easy to Go labelling machine caught my attention. We immediately made an appointment to discuss the possibilities for Zuiderduin. Due to our capacity of 750 beds and the ability to cater for very large groups, we needed a system to provide all dishes on the buffets with the right information."
What does the new system do?
"LABELLORD has developed a module where complete buffet menus, dishes, ingredients and allergen information can be entered into a special database. The database already contains a number of basic data, such as allergen symbols and customer logos, which can be supplemented or modified if desired. Once all basic information has been entered, a label with the selected information (optionally with company logo) can be printed and stuck onto a buffet card. There is a display present at the buffet where the different allergen symbols are explained."
What are the experiences so far?
"Previously, each label on our buffets was manually composed and then printed. The new system not only saves a significant amount of time, it is also very flexible to use. With the LABELLORD software, we can customize the labels as desired.”
